Three motions for the verse10 min

On the porch glider with the keeper stone bucket from camp. Hand Logan one stone. Walk through the three motions together. Open palm. Cup and lift. Open hand to sky. Repeat twice. Say the verse as you go.

On the porch chair next to Logan with a board book about rocks. Name rock and lift each time.

The Joshua 4:6 verse asks a question that the stones answer. Today the stones are the answer. Repeating the verse with motion gives Logan a body memory. Caleb hears the word stone enough times to start saying it.

Pour patterns on the porch20 min

Set three lake stones on the kitchen tray. Hand Logan a cup with two inches of water. He pours, you watch where it goes. Around the stones, between them, off the edge. Say it out loud each time. Water finds its way. Three pours. Then dry the stones with a towel and stack them on the porch rail.

On a towel beside the tray, give Caleb an empty cup and an inch of water in a bowl. Show him scoop and pour. Cup to bowl, bowl to cup. Name what he does. Pour. Splash. Wet.

Water always takes the path of least resistance. The stones make new paths. Logan sees water make a choice. The rock-and-water theme from the camping plan continues here.

If the day goes sideways

Heat advisory pushes 91 today. If the porch is too hot by 10am, move to the kitchen counter. Same setup, same lesson.

Drop on dry, drop on wet10 min

On a paper towel on the porch table, set two dry stones and two stones wet from the anchor. Logan drops one drop from a dropper on each. Watch how the drop sits or spreads.

Caleb in the chair with a dry washcloth and a damp washcloth. Crinkle and squeeze. Name dry and wet.

Wet stones do not bead the same way dry stones do. Water joins water. This sets up the channel idea for Monday.

Lunch table prompt5 min

At the table, ask Logan to name one thing the water did this morning that surprised him. Wait for him. Caleb gets a small cup of water to pour into his bowl while you talk.

Afternoon30 min

Walk the front yard slowly. Logan picks four stones, no bigger than his palm. Put each one in the bucket. Name where it came from. By the porch step. Under the bush. By the mailbox.

Bring the morning's four stones to the kitchen sink. Logan rinses each with the tap. Set on a kitchen towel to dry. Quiet block with the sound of water running.

Spatial language is the lesson today. Logan starts to name his yard.

Front porch sit before supper15 min

On the porch glider after the day cools. Logan stays in your lap or beside you. Watch the light change. Hold one stone the whole time. The verse can come back here, said quietly once.

A still block at sunset teaches the body what an end-of-day rhythm feels like. The stone in the hand keeps the morning lesson alive.

Tomorrow

Saturday and Sunday are rest days. The next plan is Monday, June 1, channels in the driveway. The same stones come outside again.

This is the bridge from camping. Logan remembers the lake. Use those exact stones. The day has two real activity blocks before lunch, then easy afternoon, then the porch wind-down. Three pours is the cap.

If the day runs hot, drop this first: The afternoon stone hunt is the first thing to drop if Caleb does not nap or Logan melts in the heat. The morning anchor is the one that has to happen.
